High School Student Data Competition
Inspired by ASA's Fall Data Challenge and Data Visualization Poster Competition for Grades K–12, the program committee is excited to announce that first local High School Student Data Competition at QPRC. We invite high school students around Seattle metropolitan area to participate this competition and winners will be invited to attend the conference and present their posters.
Dataset and Problem to Solve: the same problem and datasets described in the Fall Data Challenge: participant will use the police call-for-service data in conjunction with a second dataset of their choice to uncover insights and tell a compelling story through data visualization and innovative analysis.
Format of Findings to Submit: a poster between 18 and 24 inches high and 24 and 30 inches wide with methods, processes, findings and conclusions. Supplementary materials such as codes and notebooks can also be submitted using text or html format.
Target Participants: individual of high school students around Seattle area who did not participant the Fall Data Challenge. Each student will work independently to finish the data analysis, modeling and the poster.
